As many as 796 taxpayers across the country are falling under the wrong tax jurisdiction at Large Taxpayer Unit (LTU) and Regional Tax Office (RTO) and require change in their jurisdiction for proper working of the business community under relevant tax department. Sources confirmed to Business Recorder here on Wednesday that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has detected 796 taxpayers where tax jurisdiction has not been assigned to the relevant field formations and the same are lying with wrong Large Taxpayer Unit (LTU or Regional Tax Office (RTO).
Sources said that the FBR has compiled a list 796 taxpayers which require change of their jurisdiction in cases where existing jurisdictions are not assigned to relevant field formations. Details revealed that in the case of 796 taxpayers, the IRIS jurisdiction is not assigned to the relevant field formations, as the same are lying with incorrect RTOs/LTUs. As per the request received from different filed formations and after Chief Commissioners necessary NOCs, a list has been complied by FBR's jurisdiction office where changes in jurisdiction of taxpayers are required.
The FBR has also directed the chief IT Business Domain Team of FBR to change the jurisdiction of the said taxpayers from existing jurisdiction and assign correct jurisdiction.
