Unidentified men on Wednesday shot dead two people here in Gulshan-e-Hadeed neighborhood of the metropolis. According to the victim's family sources, the deadly incident occurred inside an electronic shop in Naseerabad area of the Steel Town at around 10:30 am when two motorcyclists barged into it and opened multiple fires targeting the Shopkeeper Muhammad Umer and his relative Tawab Khan who had recently come from Zhob district of Baluchistan province to meet his relatives here.
The armed assailants fled the scene leaving the two in pool of blood. The victims later succumbed to bullet wounds owing to excessive bleeding.
The body of Umer was laid to rest amid tears and anguish in District South of the metropolis after funeral prayers. While the body of another victim Tawab was shifted to his hometown Qamaruddin via road.
It merits mention here that a brother of victim Muhammad Umer was also gunned down by unknown men in Liaquatabad vicinity of the city back in 2008; however, the killers remain at large up till now, the family of the victim deplored.
"Neither we have any personal enmity nor received any threats from any group or individual," said younger brother of the deceased, requesting the law enforcement agencies to ensure speedy justice to the bereaved families as according to him "the victims were innocent".
Meanwhile, the police has lodged an FIR on the complaint of Abdullah, the younger brother of Muhammad Umer and initiated investigation to ascertain the facts and collect information about the horrific killing.
