The Met Office on Wednesday forecast mainly cold and dry weather for the most parts of the country in the next 24 hours. Temperature in Astore was minus 3 degrees Celsius, Hunza, Parachinar, Skardu, Bagrote and Gupis minus 1, each, as cold and dry weather grippe the most parts of the country in past 24 hours.
Isolated rain-thunderstorm struck places in Malakand, Hazara and Rawalpindi Divisions, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Maximum rainfall was recorded in Kalam as 17 mm, Dir 12 mm, Parachinar 11 mm, Mirkhani 9 mm and Chitral 5 mm. "Continental air is prevailing over most plain areas of the country. A fresh westerly wave is likely to affect western parts of the country on Friday," the Met said.
