Speakers have stressed the need for taking pragmatic measures to end the continued violence against the womenfolk in male-dominant society. A gathering and debate contest on "Violence against Women and Our Responsibilities," jointly organised by the Department of Social Work, and English Language and Literature of the Women University Swabi (WUS) at the campus on Friday.
Khanzadi Fatima Khattak, Vice Chancellor of WUS said that the newly established women university plays an important role in the female education of district and only the educated girls/women could fight for their rights from a strong position because they knew about the confronting serious challenges and have capability to find out result-oriented salutation. The VC urged the student community to fulfill their responsibilities and raise their voices against violence against women. The educated girls could play their constructive role, she said.
She highlighted the positive role of females in the development and prosperity of a nation. The students should change their narrative, identifying the various problems and take all stakeholders in confidence. It was necessary for achieving durable result, she said. Dr Aurangzeb, Head of Department of Social Work said that the academia of the university will stick with their resolve to instill positive values in the minds of young students who can play their role for the betterment of the community and improve their position on the other.
