Chairman Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Irfan Qaiser Sheikh has said that TEVTA has decided to provide jobs in Dubai to its 1800 pass outs on 2800 dirham per month. Addressing the meeting of TEVTA's Core Committee here on Friday at TEVTA Secretariat, Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that there is huge demand of security guards in Dubai as different companies have recently demanded for around 1800 to 2000 security guards.
He said that taking full advantage of the opportunity he has decided to provide these jobs to TEVTA graduates who have passed the Security Guard course which was held in collaboration with Home Department and Special Branch. He further said that TEVTA's graduates will get salary of 2800 dirham which is equivalent to Pakistani Rs 83,000. This salary is being provided to managerial level jobs in our country, he said adding that even a student who got MBA degree is unable to get this salary.
Chairman went on saying that a simple graduate or student with Master's degree is getting around Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 per month initially but TEVTA's graduate will be earning three times more than a MBA graduate. He said that in actual we need to change minds of our youngsters and their parents towards skilled jobs as they prefer white collar jobs which have very low salaries in Pakistan and around the globe as well.
Irfan said that this is the first step toward providing jobs to our graduate abroad. He also said that security guards will be sent abroad in first phase and TEVTA is also in talks with different organizations for placing its students of Driving and Hospitality courses. In Gulf countries there is huge demand of drivers, cooks, chefs and other hotel staff which are being trained by TEVTA, he added.
