Ukraine's grain exports totalled 25.9 million tonnes by Wednesday, down from 28.4 million tonnes on the same date the previous season, the agriculture ministry said on Wednesday. So far in the 2017/18 season, which runs from July to June, Ukraine exported 12.7 million tonnes of wheat, 9.0 million tonnes of maize and more than 3.9 million tonnes of barley, the ministry said in a statement.
Ukraine said it harvested 61.3 million tonnes of grain in calendar 2017, compared with a record 66 million tonnes in 2016. Acting agriculture minister Maksim Martyniuk said this month that the ministry maintained the 2017/18 grain export forecast at up.
