The Provincial Chairman, Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao has said that the lack of vision and poor planning have resulted in serious crises in the province. While addressing a public gathering at Shaheen Muslim Town Peshawar city on Sunday, he said that poor planning of Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) project has brought the lives of the people to a halt and have put them in jeopardy.
Sikandar Sherpao said that the lack of coherence and uniformity in planning of PTI led provincial government has produced chaos and has left the province dysfunctional. He said that it is failure on part of the provincial government that delay in finalizing the design for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project has made the lives of the people miserable. QWP Provincial Chief said that in the guise of Peshawar Beautification Plan, public money was wasted which is a disservice to the people of the province. He lashed out at the PTI led government for relying on 'lip service,' instead of taking measures for the progress of the province.
He said that provincial government's grandiose claims of performance are just a rollercoaster developmental growth. "QWP is the strongest supporter of the rule of law and democratic uplift. The ongoing situation of confrontation among the institutions was not good for democratic process in the country," Sherpao added.
Sikandar Sherpao said that he believes that solution of the problems lies in looking inward and dialogue between the institutions on the issues of governance. He mentioned that pointless political wrangling and politics of agitation were not good for the country and the people of Pakistan. He said that the time has come for the political forces to join hands and lead the process of the revival instead of engaging in blame game. He said that we have long suffered the consequences of failures in building a national consensus on key policy areas of governance. He asked the political leadership to focus on the upcoming General Elections so as to ensure free and fair polls on time.
