13 medical waste incinerators: UK firm completes biggest export deal with Pakistan

A Staffordshire-based manufacturer has completed its biggest export deal to date, supplying 13 medical waste incinerators to Pakistan with support from the Department for International Trade (DIT). Addfield Environmental Systems machinery ensures the complete destruction of harmful waste while significantly reducing its environmental impact. The company's export business has soared during the past three years, increasing from 30% of its turnover to more than 65%. The company now exports to 95 countries, and it expects this number to grow by as much as 50% in the next two years.
Addfield has worked with the DIT for the last five years, since launching a strategic plan to increase its overseas sales. It now supplies to health organisations and government bodies around the world and is recognised for the quality of its equipment. James Grant, business development manager, said, "Historically, medical waste has been handled poorly, which has had environmental and health consequences in countries where the infrastructure is struggling to keep up with the growing population."
