Quaid Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and former premier Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that his party will not respect the ones who do not respect the sanctity of people's mandate and votes. Addressing a public meeting in Kot Momin on Wednesday, Nawaz Sharif complained that mere five people (five judges) tore opinions of 20 crore people.
He rhetorically asked why PML-N was being subjected to alleged injustice. The PML-N Quaid reiterated that the top court disqualified him as the premier of Pakistan for not earning salary from his son's company and over a resident permit. He asserted that no corruption in national treasury was proved against him.
Notable legal experts across Pakistan disagreed with the July 28, 2017 verdict and said that it was unfair, Nawaz said. The lifetime founder of PML-N further complained that a candidate of PML-N was allotted a pick-up van as an electoral symbol in place of a lion that has been party's sign for decades.
Nawaz Sharif said that the party has taken a step and now it is people's turn to reciprocate. He claimed that the political organization would win the battle concerning people's rights. He further said that petrol price was not on a rise after his ouster whereas he wanted to slash power tariff instead.
The PML-N Quaid said that the decision from certain people would not be allowed to harm the progress of the country. Nawaz asked those who had gathered if they support him or not to which they raised their hands to express support. "I am fighting for the stability of the country and it is a war for the respect of vote in which I want the support of the masses," he said. "I have raised voice against this injustice and now the masses have to support me," he said.
The PML-N leader said that he would not accept blackmailing and would fight till the end for the rights of masses. He said that now an attempt is being made to expel him from the politics but people are standing alongside him. He asked the masses to fight against this injustice.
He said that through a planned conspiracy, the biggest party of the parliament is forced to remain out of Senate elections. "We were deprived of our election symbol and our candidates were forced to contest elections as independent candidates," he said adding that he wanted to tell everyone that PML-N would not let anyone rig elections. Earlier on Wednesday morning, Nawaz Sharif visited Kot Momin to condole over the death of PML-N MPA Tahir Sindhu from his family. He was welcomed by several activists of the party at Sargodha Interchange from where he was led to the residence of MPA Tahir Sindhu.
