Inspector General of Islamabad Police (IGP) Sultan Azam Temuri has said that city police busted four-member gang involved in killing a Chinese woman during a robbery at her house and looting foreigners, especially Chinese nationals. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Temuri said that a special team of police headed by SP Investigation Zubair Ahmad Sheikh arrested three members of the gang including Syed Tehseen, Syed Zulqarnain and Khurram Ibrahim, while one member of gang is still at large.
According to preliminary investigation, the IGP said that these criminals confessed to killing a Chinese woman in a dacoity in the limits of Ramna police station and looting foreigners, including Chinese nationals, in sectors F-8, F-10, G-10, G-9 and G-11. The criminals used to observe Chinese nationals at big shopping malls, chase and mark their houses and then plan to loot them, he said. He said that the police team recovered two pistols, steel hammer, iron rod, veils, Rs 160,000 cash, two laptops and one cell phone from them. One of the accomplices of these nabbed persons has not been arrested yet. The ringleader of the gang Syed Tehseen had visited Germany in 2014 and stayed there illegally.
He returned to the country after not getting visa from there and started criminal activities on his return. Security Officer Chinese Embassy Peng Yunfei appreciated the performance and hard work of Islamabad Police in tracing this murder. He also lauded the steps taken by the police to ensure protection to the Chinese people residing in the federal capital.
He said that currently 2,000 Chinese people are living in different localities of the federal capital and police have increased patrolling in the areas where the Chinese are living.
