On Monday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,260. The traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 6.099 billion and the number of lots traded was 8,794. Major business was contributed by crude oil amounting to PKR 1.553 billion, followed by gold PKR 1.475 billion, currencies through COTS PKR 1.352 billion, DJ PKR 745.404 million, NSDQ100 PKR 353.319 million, silver PKR 288.087 million, SP500 PKR 166.530 million, platinum PKR 98.008 million, natural gas PKR 31.288 million, copper PKR 27.585million and Brent crude oil PKR 7.936 million. In agricultural commodities, 50lots of cotton amounting to PKR 22.997 million were traded.
