NED University of Engineering and Technology conducted its Institutional Performance Self Evaluation here on Wednesday. The self-evaluation was the preparation for the upcoming Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) by the Quality Assurance Agency, HEC. IPE panelist of HEC, Professor Dr Razak Mahar, Director QEC who is also the Chairman Department of Botany, Shah Abdul Latif University was invited to act as an external member in the audit team.
For the purpose of self-evaluation, an audit team comprising Professor Dr Muhammad Tufail, Pro Vice Chancellor; Professor Dr Saad Ahmed Qazi, Dean (ECE); Professor Dr Asad-ur-Rehman, Chairman Civil Engineering Department; Professor Dr Syed Amir Iqbal, Chairman Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department; Dr Aslam Bhutto, Deputy Director-I QEC and Professor Dr Razak Mahar, external member was formed. Whereas team of auditors consisted of Professor Dr Asif Ahmed Shaikh, Director QEC; Professor Dr Mubashir Ali Siddiqui, Secretary ASRB; Professor Dr Nasir uddin Shaikh, Controller of Examinations; Dr Muhammad Wasif and Dr Riaz Uddin, Deputy Directors QEC.
In commencement of the session, Professor Dr Asif Ahmed Shaikh, Director QEC welcomed and thanked the distinguished panelists. Thereafter, Dr Muhammad Wasif briefed the presentation and explained in detail about the University activities for preparation of the University Portfolio (UPR) and showed the relevant data of the University. The purpose of this self-assessment was to review the University Portfolio Report (UPR) of the University and measures the compliance level with the IPE Manual of the HEC.
Professor Dr Razak Mahar appreciated the efforts of the NED-QEC towards assurance of quality education through institutional performance evaluation. He along with Professor Dr Mubashir Ali Siddiqui and QEC team visited Civil Engineering Department - classes and laboratories, Engr Abul Kalam Library and asked students about the QEC and other matters related to them; the team also visited Registrar Office and Examinations Department and discussed their procedures pertaining to the IPE evaluation.
