The Bahadurabad faction of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Wednesday suggested Barrister Farogh Naseem's name for Senate chairmanship. Speaking to media outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said there would be progress in the proceedings of senate if Naseem took the helm. "I want to pass on this message through you [media] to the leaders in Parliament to take note of this suggestion for the well being of Pakistan," Maqbool further added.
Maqbool also shed light on the issues the party has faced during the past three years, he said that was the reason why numbers of MQM-P senators has decreased from seven to five. "A few of our MPAs are forced to stay out of Pakistan," he stated adding that no party had suffered more than MQM-P on this front. Khalid Maqbool also vowed to fight the delimitation process, stating that Karachi's 10.5 million people were not listed in the recent census.
