After garnering support of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for the slot of chairman Senate, Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo Thursday put his weight behind Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardrai to decide any candidate from the province for the top slot. A crucial meeting was held between Asif Ali Zardari and Balochistan Chief Minister Bizenjo here at Balochistan's House to discuss the matters in relation to election of Senate chairman on March 12, 2018.
After the meeting, Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo told media persons that now it is up to Asif Ali Zardari to decide about the candidate for the slot of Senate chairman. He said, "We sought support from PPP for the election of Senate chairman." Zardari said, "I am thankful to the chief minister for showing confidence in me to decide about the candidate for the slot of Senate chairman. We have old relations with the Baloch. The PPP always raised voice for the rights of Baloch people. We will take a decision after consultations with other opposition parties."
He said, "We have winning votes for electing Senate chairman." He said that politics takes test and now a test has begun. Answering a question, he said, "We will shake hand with PTI Chairman Imran Khan." He said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would take a final decision about the candidate for the slot of Senate chairman. Answering another question, Zardari said that he did not want to criticize incumbent Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani.
