At least 10 insurgents were killed and 13 wounded during operations by Afghan forces in Helmand province, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said on Saturday. According to the NDS' statement the operation was conducted in Khoshkaba area of Lashkargah city of Helmand province. Eight other insurgents were arrested, the NDS said.
During the operation security forces seized insurgent's weapons and explosive materials including suicide vests and a vehicle bomb, NDS said in the statement. Insurgent hideouts were also destroyed in the operation. Meanwhile, NDS forces seized caches of weapons in separate operations in Paktika province. No more details were provided about the operations.
