Imam-e-Kaba Dr Al-Sheikh Saleh bin Muhammad al-Talib has said that Pakistan has a significant place in the Muslim world and it is playing a vital role for peace and stability in the region. "The political role of Pakistan in this regard is an established fact and Saudi Arab supports peace efforts of Pakistan and stands united with this country," he expressed these views during his meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Saturday.
He further said that the strength of Pakistan is that of Saudi Arabia and vice versa. He said his visit to Pakistan is a matter of pleasure for him and the people of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have a strong bond of love and religion. He further said they give respect and value to the cooperation extended by the Pakistani government, the people and the Pak Army, as both the countries have brotherly relations and the rulers of both the countries have strong bonds of purity and mutual respect.
"The whole Muslim Ummah is well aware of historical ties between the peoples of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and both the countries have helped each other during crisis and the matters have been resolved in difficult times. The strength of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia strengthens the whole Muslim Ummah," he added.
On the occasion, the Imam-e-Kaba praised the Chief Minister for the development projects in Lahore and all over Punjab, and added that he had visited the city last year and found it making progress. "The journey of progress is continuing at a fast pace; many people have told me about untiring efforts of Shahbaz for the welfare and development of the people," he added.
Welcoming the Imam-e-Kaba, Shahbaz said his visit to Pakistan is a matter of honour and respect for Pakistan. He said that the bilateral ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are above worldly benefit and peace is our mutual asset. "Due to his visit to Pakistan, the bilateral ties between the two countries will further strengthen and the governments and peoples of both the countries will further come closer," he added.
"Saudi Arabia has always supported Pakistan during normal and difficult times and the people of Pakistan can never forget its cooperation. The Royal family of Saudi Arabia whole heartedly helped Pakistan and stood shoulder to shoulder with us during troubling times," he added.
Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Ahmed Al-Maliki, Sheikh Saad Al-Dosari, Senator Professor Sajid Mir, Hafiz Dr. Abdul Kareem and others were also present in the meeting.
