ANP president, Asfandyar Wali Khan has demanded of the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) to take suo motu notice of corruption in the construction of Rs 1.70 billion Bab-e-Peshawar flyover in the province. Addressing a public meeting at Grossy Ground Saidu Sharif, District Swat Saturday, he said that the flyover has been closed for heavy vehicles after the passage of only nine months of its opening for traffic due to its dilapidated conditions.
Provincial president ANP, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and other central and local leadership of the party was also present on the occasion at large. The ANP leader said that if they have committed corruption then their MNAs and MPAs and ministers today would have been behind bars. However, he linked the establishment of durable peace in the country with bringing changes in both internal and external policies. Asfandyar Wali Khan said that previous policies of the country have been flopped and now the time had arrived to revisit them and put them in right direction. He said that the champions of change, which were making allegations against ANP, have failed to hide their own corruption and they are so clean and neat then why the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is busy in carrying investigations against them and why they had locked down their own provincial Ehtesab Commission. The ANP chief also came hard on the top national anti-graft agency (NAB) that why it had limited its sphere of investigations to only Nawaz Sharif. He said that PANAMA Leaks were containing the names of several other persons also and asked the NAB to extend their investigations to others also.
He said that ANP has always advocated the resolution of political problems in the parliament and they should not be taken to courts. He urged the politicians to respect the prestige of parliament and instead of courts resolve their problems in parliament.
About China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Asfandyar Wali said that till giving due share to Pakhtun and FATA, it would remain only China Punjab Economic Corridor. He clarified that they are not against the development of Punjab, however, Pakhtun should also be granted their genuine rights.
