General Secretary, ANP Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Monday said that a conspiracy is being hatched to continue confrontation among the institutes, saying that if all constitutional institutes continues to work within their ambit then tthe situation can be improved. He congratulated Sadiq Sanjrani on his election as Chairman Senate. However, he said that situation created regarding the Senate will keep it hounded.
The ANP stalwart expressed these views while addressing the meeting of organizing committee regarding arrangements and preparations for the party chief's scheduled public meeting in Nowshera on March 18. He said that the public meeting will prove historic and will leave deep impacts on the upcoming elections. He urged the local party leaders and workers to making full preparations regarding for the public meeting and utilize all energies for making it a success.
Mian Iftikhar said that at last the Senate elections were completed, but it is matter of deep sorrow that those boycotting both PPP and PML-N utilized the Chief Minister Balochistan for establishing of backdoor contacts with Asif Zardari. He said that earlier attempts were made to dissolve Balochistan Assembly in which Zardari played full role. However, the political sagacity of Nawaz Sharif saved the assembly from dissolution. Otherwise, he said the next plan to dissolve KP and Sindh assemblies followed by the dissolution of National Assembly.
The ANP Secretary General said that PPP has sacrificed Raza Rabbani for the number game. He said that each and every tactic has been utilized in the country to derailed democracy, but the attempt could not succeed. He said that the stoppage of Senate elections was also part of such attempt. He said that although the Senate elections have been held, but the situation remains continue and can confront several challenges.
He said that the policy of confrontation among the institutes is continue and its result is the prevailing economic depression and due to the fears of the drowning of the investment, the foreign world is hesitant in expressing confidence in Pakistan.
He requested all national institutions to abandon the policy of confrontation and fight war in the national interest. He said that till the continuation of the confrontation, democracy will remain under threat.
He termed the inclusion of Pakistan in the grey list by Financial Action Task Force (FATF) as a warning that if Pakistan presents proofs of working against terrorism then it would be taken out of it. Therefore, he urged the government to take solid steps in this regard.
Mian Iftikhar said that ANP had always opposed violence and is a peace-loving political party, saying they are the followers of non-violence and wanted to see durable peace in the country.
Regarding new delimitation, he said that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has hatched a conspiracy in the matters relating to delimitation of electoral constituencies in Nowshera and will take streets against it according to the consensus of all political parties of the district and take legal course.
