Jinnah Interchange in Gujranwala city constructed at the cost of Rs 8 billion has been opened to all kind of traffic. It is amongst the biggest flyovers in Punjab. It is a two-lane flyover on either side having a length of 1.755km and width of 17m. The flyover is a signal-free facility for traffic coming from Rawalpindi and Lahore to Gujranwala city.
According to official spokesman, PML-N government completed development projects worth Rs 40 billion for the uplift and prosperity of Gujranwala district in the past four years and in the same manner over 60 billion rupees have been spent in this regard in last nine years. The completed development projects included Government Girls Degree College of Ladhay Wala Waraich constructed at the cost of Rs 120 million, Parking Plaza of Gujranwala accomplished at the cost of Rs 500 million, E-Khidmat Markaz, E-Library and Sports Gymnasium As a part of electioneering, foundation stone has also been laid for construction of two-way road from Sheikhupura to Gujranwala which will cost Rs 6 billion, Gaukher Sports Arena and project of construction and maintenance of road from Main GT Road to Medical College Gujranwala. Punjab government has also announced University of Engineering and Technology, Rachna College up-gradation to University level, construction of multi-storey Surgical Tower at District Head Quarter Hospital, flyover worth of Rs 1.5 billion at Alam Chowk Gujranwala and project of widening of Gujranwala to Khanqaw Dogran Motorway Interchange road from 12 feet to 24 feet.
