Pakistan Customs is expected to incorporate a module in Web Based One Customs (WeBOC) for online issuance of consignment release order, phyto-sanitary certificates, PSI report endorsements etc by March 21. According to details, Directorate General of Reforms & Automation Karachi has developed a module for the integration of department of plant protection, pesticides and federal seed certification & registration department with the WeBOC system.
The said module, which is scheduled to commence operation by March 21, 2018, will enable the aforesaid departments to issue electronic release order, phyto-sanitary certificates, PSI report endorsements etc. The Directorate has advised all concerned clearing agents and traders dealing with the clearance of goods that required NOCs/ ROs/ etc. as per IPO from the above mentioned departments should obtain electronic release order / phyto-sanitary certificates / PSI report endorsement for their consignments for which GDs would gate out on or after March 21, 2018.
Meanwhile, the clearing agents have expressed concerns over the said development, saying that Customs department, which was supposed to conduct training sessions before the launch of said module, was planning to do the same without trainings, which they termed problematic to deal with.
