The City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) has successfully imparted training to over 680 women in motorbike riding under the "women on wheels" project which was recently initiated by the Punjab government to empower under-privileged women. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Rai Ejaz Ahmed disclosed this during his visit to LOS Rescue 1122 Academy on Wednesday. The CTO said the motive behind the "women on wheels" project is to empower women by providing them training in vehicle riding which would enable them to earn a reasonable livelihood.
He said the traffic police in collaboration with TEVTA have established six driving schools for the facilitation of citizens.
