The rector Virtual University (VU) Dr Naveed A Malik has said that the university is promoting research-oriented study culture among its students. A fully equipped mobile laboratory for life sciences' students is underway which will provide lab facility across Pakistan. The Virtual University has achieved another milestone by winning the digital skills training project that is designed to train one million people of the country.
He was addressing Virtual University of Pakistan (VU) 9th Convocation at local hotel here on Wednesday.
He said digital skills training program will impart digital skills to youth of Pakistan. He applauded the success of VU students for securing position at Huawei's International ICT Skill Competition and winning "Best Research Paper Award" from Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC).
A total of 2026 students were conferred degrees for the successful completion of various degree programs. A total of 16 gold medals, five computer tablets and 45 merit certificates were also awarded to outstanding graduates. Major General Obaid Bin Zakria (retd) graced the occasion as chief guest.
Addressing the jubilant audience on this auspicious occasion, Dr Naveed A Malik, Rector VU, highlighted the achievements of Virtual University, its leading role in delivering information and communication technology based education and contribution in the provision of quality education even to the remotest areas of the country.
