The Spanish Ambassador to Pakistan, Carlos Morales has said that Spain is keen to further strengthen trade ties with Pakistan to enhance two-way trade between the two countries. Addressing the members of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Wednesday he said that both sides are already working on enhancing the bilateral trade between the two countries.
The ambassador informed the house that Spain is the sixth trade partner as well as buyer of Pakistan and we understand that exchange of trade delegations between Spain and Pakistan are direly needed because in this way we will be able to increase the trade volume. Exchange of trade delegations between Spain and Pakistan will be supportive not only in bringing the businessmen of both sides closer but also helpful in ascertaining the demands of markets, he said.
The ambassador further stated that due to GSP Plus status the exports from Pakistan especially textile had been increased to many folds and with the passage of time it will further grow, he said. He stressed upon the business community of Sialkot that they should play an instrumental role in enhancing bilateral trade between the two countries. Sialkot is enjoying a unique export culture and the city globally known for its quality products adding that the meeting with businessmen was very productive and hopefully result oriented, he added.
