Karachi-based Swiss Consul General Philippe Crevoisier has said that Pakistan has improved confidence of foreign investors through actions which it took for betterment of security and continuous economic growth. "I see progress in law and order situation in Pakistan. Besides commercial and economic activities in the country are very impressive," he said, inaugurating the 14th International Plastic, Printing and Packaging Exhibition, held here under the aegis of FAKT Exhibitions at the Expo Centre.
More than 300 companies from all over country and abroad are participating in the exhibition that will continue till Sunday March 18. The Consul General said Pakistan is one of the biggest markets for foreign investors. He said such exhibitions would help the country bring foreign investment to the country.
"Importers from various countries, including Switzerland are assessing the market for placing orders," he said. Regarding China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he said, it is great opportunity for Pakistan to take advantage and improve its market size and economic activities.
"It is good to see Pakistan is partnering with neighboring country," Philippe Crevoisier, said answering a question about Pakistan's reliance on China for economic growth under CPEC. He referred that trade activities of Europe Union (EU) countries were also within the neighboring countries. FAKT Exhibitions' Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Saleem Khan Tanoli said it was major exhibition in the country and during the three-day exhibition about 350 companies from different countries would display their products. He said the companies participating in exhibition, are mainly from Germany, China, Sri Lanka, Italy, Switzerland, etc.
He said primary object of the exhibition is to attract foreign direct investment for the country. He said exhibition would help in creating business opportunity and networking for the manufacturing sector. He said the event is aimed at building new business relations alongside strengthening the existing one between Pakistani companies and rest of the world.
He said FAKT Exhibitions has been organizing this flagship event for the last 15 years on regular basis to keep local sector abreast of latest technological developments and best practices applied by world famous groups and companies in plastic, printing and packaging sectors. "This exhibition has all impulses to make a benchmark in Plastic, Printing and Packaging businesses," Tanoli said.
Consul General of Germany Rainer Schmiedchen also attended the inaugural ceremony.
