The Punjab Assembly unanimously passed a resolution on Friday condemning the harassment of Pakistani diplomats and violations of international diplomatic norms by India. Moved by Opposition Leader Mian Mehmoodur Rashid, the resolution stated that intimidation of Pakistani diplomats and their families was highly condemnable.
It urged the government to register a strong protest with New Delhi. The House demanded to raise this issue at world level to expose the black face of India. The resolution strongly condemned the Indian attitude of enmity and non-tolerance. Earlier, the session started 1 hour 36 minutes late under the chair of speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal. The speaker adjourned the session for 15 minutes due to absence of secretary health during question hour.
Speaking on a point of order, Industries Minister Sheikh Allauddin demanded that the issue of penalty on the property tax should be resolved. While answering the question, Punjab Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha said that the government will try to resolve the issue as early as possible. Answering questions regarding Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education, Parliamentary Secretary Chaudhry Hassan Riaz said a mechanism had been placed to monitor the duty rosters of doctors appointed in public sector hospitals. "The doctors are allowed to do private practice if it does not affect their duties in the government hospitals," he added.
The opposition staged a brief walk out against the behaviour of parliamentary secretary of specialised healthcare and medical education while answering the question of PTI MPA Dr Nosheen Hamid. Punjab Special Education Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq replying to queries of the members said the Punjab government was attaching high significance to training manpower and ensuring provision of jobs to youth.
He said that ample funds had been allocated for the promotion of technical education and vocational training in the current year's budget. Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmood ur Rashid speaking on a point of order demanded that names of the Sharif family be put on the Exit Control List. Later, the speaker prorogued the session for an indefinite period.
