The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday told the Lahore High Court that former police inspector Abid Hussain alias Abid Boxer had not been extradited to Pakistan. FIA's Director Interpol Tahir Nawaz told this during hearing of a petition of Boxer's father in-law for his protection. The court adjourned further hearing of the petition to March 28.
Petitioner Jaffar Rafi through his counsel stated that there was a strong apprehension that Pakistani police would kill Boxer in fake encounter after bringing him back to Pakistan. He said a number of fabricated cases had been registered against his son in-law only on the basis of political victimization. He prayed the court to summon record of all the alleged cases and issue direction for his protection. Boxer was arrested in UAE by the local police in a fraud case.
