Pakhtuns Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) took out a rally at Shlobar Square, Kamberabad area of Tehsil Bara, Khyber Agency on Sunday, demanding the government to give due rights and respect to Pakhtun community. Besides the central leadership of PTM, large numbers of local political workers and people from different walk of life from the Khyber Agency participated in the moot.
Addressing on the occasion the speakers including Dr Said Alam Mehsud, Kareem Mehsud, Engineer Torgul Chamkani and others said that PTM was purely a non-political movement, with the main purpose to seek security and respected life for Pakhtun community at their motherland. "We will never support and will never let anyone to utilize PTM forum against the state or forces but to put forward their legal demands before the authorities, guaranteed by the Constitution of the country," they added.
The speakers said the Pakhtuns had rendered matchless sacrifices for the sake of their country and in time of need they would never hesitate to again repeat their heroic history. They urged the authorities concerned to produce thousands of missing persons before court, disappeared during forces operation so that their fate could be decided, adding instead of forces Khasadar and Levies personnel should be deployed on check post across the tribal belt. The participants also demanded of the army to release possessions of their houses, mosques etc in FATA and compensate the effected tribesmen. They asked to deal with iron hand with those who violated Pakhtun rites.
