The Karachi Port handled 402,219 tonnes of cargo comprising 287,853 tonnes of import cargo and 114,366 tonnes of export cargo including 6,839 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 287,853 tonnes comprised of 92,752 tonnes of containerised cargo; 24,544 tonnes of bulk cargo; 64,658 tonnes of coal; 1,203 cattle and 104,696 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 114,366 tonnes comprised of 80,060 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,415 tonnes of bulk cargo; 26,991 tonnes of wheat and 5,900 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,839 containers comprising of 2,446 containers import and 4,393 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,332 of 20's and 540 of 40's loaded while 14 of 20's and 10 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,350 of 20's and 793 of 40's loaded containers while 149 of 20's and 654 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were thirteen ships namely Hyundai Brave, Northern Discovery, Polo, OOCL Busan, Libra, Hyundai Faith, MT Karachi, Bao Tong, Karina Danica, Rickmers Tokyo, Vasiliy Shukshin, Oriental Sakura, and Heilan Journey carrying containers, oil tanker, coal and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were twelve vessels viz. Cosco New York, Libra, Hyundai Faith, Express Black Sea, Hamburg Bay, Blue April, AC-D, Ribe Maersk, Asphalt Ten, Zoitsa Sigala, Excellent Pescadores and FLC Fortune carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, wheat and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 137,944 tonnes comprising 100,951 tonnes of import cargo and 36,993 tonnes of export cargo including 2,380 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 100,951 tonnes includes 42,000 tonnes of LNG; 3,644 tonnes of palm oil; 750 tonnes of palm kernel; 36,400 tonnes of coal; 9,526 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 404 tonnes of general cargo and 8,227 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 36,993 tonnes includes 36,993 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,380 containers comprising of 433 containers import and 1,947 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There was one ship namely CV MSC Tiger carrying containers sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships namely CV Safmarine Nyassa and MT Yu Fu carrying containers and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV MSC Tiger, CV Safmarine Nyassa, MV Du Juan Song, MV Agri Princess, MV Vinalines Brave, MV Serene Juniper, MT Al-Oraiq, MT Yu Fu and MT African Macaw were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, soyabean seeds, coal, LPG and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as nineteen ships namely CV MSC Sindy, CV Mediterranean Bridge, CV Mataquito, MV Soho Trader, MV Madario Trader, MV Indus Century, MV YM Miranda, MV TVS Beach Wood, MV Nikolas-III, MV Parnsos, MV Makiki, MV SBI Antaros, MT Adam, MT Maria-III, MT White Purl, MT Al-Dasma, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Jo Pinari and MT Red Eagle carrying containers, talcum powder, general cargo, chemical, coal, LNG, LPG and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Sindy, CV Mediterranean Bridge, CV Express Kailash, MV Celsius Miami and MT Adam carrying containers, coal and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth and Engro Energy Terminal respectively on Monday.
There were six ships namely CV Express Black Sea, MV Linus, MV Sea Fortune, MV Cherry Dream, MV Industrial Century and MT JO Pinari carrying containers, chemical, project cargo, steel coil and diesel oil respectively due to arrive on Monday.
There are two ships namely CV Maersk Memphis and CV APL Charleston carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
