US winter wheat futures fell 2 percent or more for the second straight session on Friday, pressured by forecasts for rains arriving this weekend that could benefit plants in Kansas and Nebraska, traders said. It was the best chance in months for rains in parts of the parched US Plains wheat belt, with showers predicted on Sunday and Monday. But the southernmost portion of the Plains could receive only limited moisture and crops there could remain stressed, meteorologists and traders said.
Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures dropped about 2.2 percent and K.C. wheat - the variety that reflects the crop in top state Kansas - were down 2.8 percent.
