The Senate of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law (SZABUL) on Thursday approved the PC-I for setting up a campus of the SZABUL in Islamabad. The 7th meeting of the SZABUL Senate was held in its city campus with its Pro-Chancellor and provincial Minister Law and Prisons Zaiul Hasan Lanjar in the chair. Registrar Syed Sharaf Ali Shah held the proceedings while Director Finance Amir Bashir gave presentation on the financial outlay of the university. The meeting granted approval to the revised budgetary estimates of 2017-18 and the proposed budget outlay of 2018-19.
Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar, in his address, appreciated the efforts of Qazi Khalid and the staff of SZABUL due to which the varsity developed ability to set up its campuses in other cities. The minister supported the proposal for setting up a campus of SZABUL in Islamabad and said although it would be not be an easy task but he hoped that Qazi Khalid will be able to implement it.
Lanjar said he wanted SZABUL extend its scholarship programme and asked Secretary Law Shariq Ahmed to summon a meeting of stakeholders and also invite secretary Zakat for the purpose of furthering the scholarships programme for the needy students of the province. He said he himself is a student of law and wanted to see SZABUL making progress. He said the government would provide every possible help. Earlier, founding Vice Chancellor welcomed the participants and said the university had to go a long way to achieve the desired level of improvement and quality education. He said he needed support and guidance of the government. He suggested that the three Law Colleges of Karachi be made constituent colleges of SZABUL-PR
