ISLAMABAD: Sardar Akhtar Mengal, Member National Assembly belonging to Balochistan National Party Wednesday said he agreed that everybody should be held accountable for corruption but now the focus should shift to political corruption plaguing the country since 1947.

Speaking in the National Assembly during a debate on the issue of accountability, he said political corruption was that political parties were broken up and the people were forced to change loyalties.

He said Parliament was a supreme institution, however still there were forces which were undermining democracy.

Akhtar said he visited Kech Balochistan along with other members of National Assembly to observe a bye election and complained that the election was rigged.

He said who will take action against those who committed electoral fraud, stamped ballots and stuffed the ballot boxes in the Kech bye election.
