The Met Office has asked the farmers to evolve irrigation plans for the standing crops as prevailing cloudy weather may unleash rains in parts of the country in the next 10 days. It also urged the growers to remove weeds from fields to help the standing crops to produce a greater yield, warning that the unneeded plants consume much of the food and input causing the farmers a considerable loss every year.
The Met also said that the farmers should take measures to protect crops, nurseries and orchids from the harsh impacts of the existing cold weather. It said that normal wind will prevail over the most of agricultural plains with warning of sandstorms in Southern Punjab and Upper Sindh. The day-night temperature is likely to remain slightly normal in the most parts of country.
In Punjab mainly cold and cloudy weather with a light to moderate rainfall is expected in most of its upper parts. Widely dry weather is expected in Sindh and Balochistan during the period.
A light to moderate rainfall is expected in the most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir. In Gilgit-Baltistan, mainly cold and cloudy weather is expected with a light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorm at a few places.
