Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Saturday said he foresees general elections in November or December this year. He made this prediction in an interview with Aaj News programme "G for Gharidah's" host Gharidah Farooqi on Saturday. Sheikh said one-month extension in the tenure of interim government would have no impact. He said objections to delimitations of the constituencies would be filed by April 3 and that would be disposed of by May 5.
"It would not be possible to complete that process in a month," he maintained. He said former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif wanted elections be held before August. He said Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani would be acting President if the general elections are delayed. Sheikh said he had not been taking dictation from any quarter.
