As many as 130 local and foreign companies are taking part in the fourth Colour & Chem Expo-2018 that commenced here at the Expo Centre on Saturday. Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Acting President Khawaja Khawar Rasheed inaugurated the exhibition where local and foreign companies including China, India, Taiwan, Turkey, Germany, UAE and UK displayed their products and accessories involving dyes, chemicals and allied industry. The Event and Conference International (Pvt) Ltd in partnership with China Dyestuff Industry Association (CDIA), the Gujrat Dyestuff Manufacturers Association (GDMA) India and BRAGG Expo Shanghai Co. Ltd. organized the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice President, Gujrat Dyestuff Manufacturers Association India Yogesh D Parikh said that the Gujrat (India) based companies have so far received good response from Lahore and Faisalabad based buyers as especially textile industry bought good quality products and material from India. During last three years, the Indian companies had delivered business worth up to IRs 40 million to Pakistani traders. Parikh said Indian Gujrat alone houses more than 800 companies which deal in dyes and chemicals. As many as 22 Indian companies got Pakistani visa, he told, adding Pakistani and Indian governments are somehow helping business community of each other in seeking visas for business ventures.
"We want improved relations between the two countries for improved trade as India and Pakistan both are the biggest producers of cotton-made fabrics" he added.
President of the China Dyestuff Industry Association (CDIA) Shi Xiangping said on the occasion that Chinese companies are very much interested to launch joint ventures with Pakistani counterparts in textile industry. Pakistan economy is growing at fast pace, he added. Punjab Dyes & Chemicals Merchants Association President Abdul Rahim Chughtai said that some Chinese companies participating in the expo have offered local traders for joint ventures.
