MMA's electoral prospects

It is quite interesting to note that the newly-revived Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal is quite confident about its electoral prospects. The question whether or not the religious alliance would fare better in the 2018 general elections as compared to the 2002 polls has no easy answer. Addressing a press conference in Karachi the other day, Maulana Fazlur Rahman, the president of MMA, focused his message on the mission of the MMA, referring to its glory days under Pervez Musharraf when it was 'elevated' to the party in power in KP, and its long standing desire to bring in an Islamic system in Pakistan.
It is also interesting to note that Jamaat-e-Islami, one of the principal components of MMA, is a coalition partner of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in KP. The question is: will MMA return to power in KP where the PTI's provincial government has done much better than its Awami National Party's and MMA's.
