KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday issued notice to Secretary Defence and sought reply from him on next hearing in case pertaining to the production of Lyari Aman Committee’s gangster Uzair Baloch.
A two-member bench of the SHC heard the petition filed by Razia Begum, mother of Baloch, and issued notice to Secretary Defence.
Deputy Attorney General appeared before the court and stated that they had written a letter to military headquarter regarding keeping Baloch in military’s custody, but there was no response on that letter.
However, Inspector General Prisons Sindh submitted a report in the court, which said Baloch has been in the custody of security agencies since 11th April 2017. He was handed over to the Rangers in the court of judicial magistrate.
The petitioner stated that Uzair Baloch’s arrest was announced through media and he was charged with more than 40 cases. She also said that Baloch is not produced before court after 12th April 2017. She said they have concerns that Baloch might be disappeared.
She appealed the bench for her meeting with her son. She also appealed to the court for orders to produce Baloch before court.
The court, later, adjourned the hearing till 2nd January.
