Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stunned Punjab in a thrilling final and grabbed the trophy of the 5th National Tchoukball Championship-2018 organized under the aegis of Pakistan Tchoukball Federation played at Islamabad Gymnasium on Friday.
President International Tchoukball Federation Chris Haung was the chief guest on this occasion. Julio Calegari, Director International Tchoukball Development, Mohsin Jamil Baig, Chairman Pakistan Tchoukball Federation, Basit Shakeel Hashimi, President Pakistan Tchoukball Federation (PTBF), Wasim Chudhry, Vice chairman, Pakistan Tchoukball Federation, Emmanuel Asad Secretary General, Muhammad Iqbal, Chairman Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tchoukball Association, Faisal Asad, Joint Secretary PTBF, officials, players and large number of spectators were also present and witnessed the grand thrilling final.
A total of 10 male and eight female teams from all over the country took part in the Championship comprising Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab-A, Punjab-B, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Balochistan, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Police and Sindh.
President International Tchoukball Federation Chris Haung expressed his satisfaction over the steps being taken by Pakistan Tchoukball Federation for the promotion of the game in the country. "It is so good that along with male players eight female teams took part in the Championship," he added.
He said all out efforts would be made to provide full support to Pakistan Tchoukball Federation so that it could work for the promotion of the game in all across Pakistan. Pakistan, he said, is a country that produced world class players in other Games and we are very much keen that the country should come forward in Tchoukball as well. He said refreshes courses would also be conducted so that the officials could learn more updated rules and regulations of the game. The International Tchoukball Federation is very keen to support Pakistan, he added.
