Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engr Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that peace has been restored in Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) with the sacrifices of tribal people and launching of successful operations Zarb-e-Azb and Raddul Fasaad.
He said that 95 percent of TDPs have been repatriated to their native lands. However, to bring FATA at par with progressive areas of the country, the government is committed to provide 1000 million rupees for development projects in FATA under 10 years development program. In this regard, consultation of tribal people and representation of Maliks will be ensured. He expressed these views in questions and answers session in a meeting with delegation of Command and Staff College here at Governor's House Peshawar on Tuesday. Earlier, a presentation was given about law and order situation of FATA. Additional Chief Secretary FATA Sikandar Qayyum was also present on the occasion.
After success of Army operations in FATA, no go areas have been finished and political administration have empowered to resolve problems of people of FATA. While referring to various indicators, Governor said that peace has been restored due to sacrifices of Pak Army, other security agencies and tribal people. Economic and industrial zones are being established in FATA in order to give employment opportunities to people of FATA.
