In yet another blow to already beleaguered Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), MNA Muzammil Qureshi parted ways with the party on Wednesday and joined Syed Mustafa Kamal led Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP). Muzammil Qureshi announced his decision of joining PSP at a press conference along with the PSP president Anis Qaimkhani at the party's headquarters, Pakistan House, here.
Qureshi said, "I have decided to join PSP because I can struggle for the resolution of basic issues of Karachiites from the PSP platform in a better way."
"We are not wickets neither we are kites, but we are the humans the crown creatures of the Allah. We take decisions carefully and independently. We will fly and swim with PSP," he said. Over a dozen workers of MQM have joined PSP along with me, he said while clarifying that no FIR was lodged against anyone of them. He also urged Farooq Sattar to join PSP where he will enjoy respect and honour.
We were expecting that issues within the MQM-P would be resolved right after August 22, 2016 but the party leaders remain fighting with each other for the rule of the party. Responding to a question, he said, "People will get tickets on merit from PSP."
PSP President Qaimkhani suggested to Farooq Sattar to have love for humans, not kites. He paid tribute to the police, Rangers and security agencies for successfully conducting PSL matches.
Last week, MQM-P received back-to-back setback as two of its MNAs, Syed Waseem Hussain and Dr Fauzia Hameed, joined the Mustafa Kamal-led PSP.
