Policy Research Institute of Market Economy (PRIME) is going to launch recently completely report on 'Metropolitan Competitiveness Index (MCI) in five cities of the country during the current and next month. The MCI report covers five major metropolitan cities including the federal capital and the four provincial capitals of the country. Metropolitan cities being drivers of economic growth have a huge potential to uplift the country's economy. Hence, the aim is to develop benchmark for economic governance and build on recommendations of how these cities can be hubs of productivity and growth.
Data is gathered through research, interactive sessions and public debate between business community, associations, experts and local governments. The index is designed on three pillars of economic dynamism, infrastructure efficiency and liveability aspects respectively.
The tentative date for launching the report in Peshawar is April 17, 2018 at 2:00 P.M.
PRIME is a public policy think tank based in Islamabad. Since its foundation in 2013, PRIME has engaged the media, policy-makers and economic experts in various research and advocacy projects to strive for economic freedom of Pakistan.
