The Karachi Port handled 298,327 tonnes of cargo comprising 195,855 tonnes of import cargo and 102,472 tonnes of export cargo including 5,742 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 195,855 tonnes comprised of 79,954 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,257 tonnes of bulk cargo; 10,652 tonnes of DAP and 99,992 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 102,472 tonnes comprised of 43,358 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,750 tonnes of bulk cargo; 17,266 tonnes of cement; 29,773 tonnes of wheat; 5,075 tonnes of sugar and 5,250 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 5,742 containers comprising of 2,131 containers import and 3,611 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 575 of 20's and 757 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 21 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 640 of 20's and 414 of 40's loaded containers while 05 of 20's and 1,069 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were twelve ships namely Northern Dedication, Prosper, APL Scotland, Virgo, Los Angeles Trader, Fairchem Sword, Chemway Arrow, Southern Koala, Pantanassa, Arcadia Highway, TCG Gelibolu and Dang A Glaucos carrying containers, oil tankers, steel coil, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were thirteen vessels viz. X-Press Kailash, Virgo, Wan Hai-503, Prosper, N Mars, MT Lahore, Fotini Lady, Al-Safa, Grand Pioneer, Baltic Panther, Chang Xu, Arcadia Highway and Da Kang carrying containers, oil tankers, coal, wheat, barge, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 108,131 tonnes comprising 56,075 tonnes of import cargo and 52,056 tonnes of export cargo including 3,247 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 56,075 tonnes includes 12,995 tonnes of diesel oil; 6,000 tonnes of palm oil; 16,719 tonnes of coal; 5,161 tonnes of canola seeds and 15,200 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 52,056 tonnes includes 5,563 tonnes of clinker and 46,493 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,247 containers comprising of 800 containers import and 2,447 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were five ships namely CV Prosper, CV Northern Power, MV Maritime Setoshio, MV GH Citation and MT NCC Tabuk carrying containers, clinker, coal and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships namely CV CMA CGM Atila and MV Iris-T carrying containers and canola seeds respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Atila, CV Prosper, CV Northern Power, MV Maritime Setoshio, MV Aris-T, MV GH Citation, MV Pacific Talent and MT NCC Tabuk were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, clinker, canola seeds, coal and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as fourteen ships namely MV Sakizaya Champion, MV Ruby Star, MV Crinson Empress, MV Zhen Bang, MV Endeavour Strait, MV Aziz, MV Ocean Prelate, MV Barbouny, MT Maria-III, MT Al-Gharrfara, MT Jo Pinari, MT Glorious, MT UACC Ibn Al-Hajiham and MT Corona carrying soyabean, canola seeds, sand, coal, LPG, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were eight vessels viz. CV MSC Maria Laura, CV MSC Al-Ghero, CV X-Press Kailash, MV BBC Africa, MV Aziz, MV Interpid Republic, MT Al-Gharrfara and MT Corona carrying containers, general cargo, coal, chemical, LNG and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth, Engro Energy Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday.
There were eight ships namely CV MSC Maria Laura, CV MSC Al-Ghero, CV X-Press Kailash, CV CMA CGM Atila, MV BBC Africa, MV Interpid Republic and MT British Emerald carrying containers, general cargo, chemical and LNG respectively due to arrive on Monday. There are two ships namely CV Mehun and CV Northern Monument carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
