On Friday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,343. The traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 10.530 billion and the number of lots traded was 15,680. Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 3.364 billion followed by WTI crude oil PKR 2.172 billion, currencies through COTS PKR 1.757 billion, DJ PKR 1.016 billion, silver PKR 914.765 million, NSDQ100 PKR 793.600 million, platinum PKR 274.345 million, Brent crude oil PKR 112.512 million, SP500 PKR 61.364 million, natural gas PKR 41.469 million and copper PKR 22.487 million. In agricultural commodities, 56 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 26.787 million were traded.
