US wheat futures rose on Friday, led higher by a 3.0 percent gain in MGEX spring wheat on concerns that frozen soils in North Dakota would delay seeding in that key production area, traders said. Weather concerns also boosted K.C. hard red winter wheat futures, which hit a three-week high on forecasts for continued dryness in the southern US Plains.
Chicago Board of Trade soft red winter wheat also hit a three-week high. Resistance for the May contract was seen near its 40-day moving average.
