Felicitating the Sikh community over traditional festival of 'vaisakhi' the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said the government equally shares the joys of the Sikh community because sharing of each other's joys and happiness promotes brotherhood and a sense of unity.
In his message of felicitation, Shahbaz said the traditional festival of 'vaisakhi' in the sub-continent is an occasion of festivity which symbolizes societal love, affection and happiness at the grassroots besides denoting the arrival of spring season. In this season, the farmers in this part of the world start cutting their wheat crop and such traditional public fairs and carnivals are organized to symbolize jubilant emotions of the farming community. It is also an occasion to express love and affection with each other, he said.
Shahbaz said that people from different faith and belief enjoy complete liberty to follow their religions in Pakistan. There are quite a number of sacred places of Sikh community in Punjab and other parts of the country and the government has always given complete attention to wellbeing, renovation and security of Sikh Gurdawaras in Pakistan, he said.
Moreover, Shahbaz Sharif has expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of a Rescue 1122 official Muhammad Irfan during a search operation in a Pakpattan canal. He has extended sympathies to the bereaved family and paid rich tributes to the commitment and dedication of the rescue official who sacrificed his life in the line of duty. The high example of this rescue official will be remembered for a long period of time, he added.
