Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Senator Siraj-ul-Haq has hinted at extending of invitation to Tehrik-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) to join the religious political alliance of Muthahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) and prevent the division of religious votes.
In an interview, the JI chief has said that the newly formed religious political party will affect the vote bank of the religio-political alliance, saying they wanted that those who love the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and making efforts for the enforcement of Islamic system should be united on one platform that is already available in the shape of MMA. He said that they will not only invite them to join MMA but also maintain good relations with them.
To a question about the resources of his party for the upcoming general elections to compete the high use of money, the JI chief that no doubt they are lacking resources and cannot afford to run their election campaign through helicopter and other modern luxurious vehicles, but they are ready to run their campaign on motorcycles and bi-cycles, but will not leave the field empty. He said that they will always remain in politics as option as they have the structure for the establishment of Islamic welfare state.
Regarding unnatural alliance with traditional political rival ANP in the recent Senate poll, he expressed gratitude to their ally for voting their candidate, saying they had already sent their delegation for extending thanks to them. However, he was of the view that the ANP was having no other option than voting for our candidate. He said that any further alliance will be considered after the general elections. He further termed the linking religious political parties with extremism a pure Western propaganda, adding that those believing in ballot box do not depend on violence as it blocked their ways.
