The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Punjab Director General Saleem Shahzad on Wednesday said the NAB had been investigating cases purely on merits. Talking to media persons at the Lahore High Court, the DG NAB said, "Everyone wants accountability in the country but for others only".
To a query about ongoing investigations into Ashiana-i-Iqbal Housing Scheme, he said former chairman of LDA Ahad Khan Cheema had a deep relation with Paragon City developers. He said Cheema received kickbacks from the contractor company in shape of lands and got them transferred in the name of his family members.
The director general also dispelled an impression as if the NAB had leaked any document relating to federal minister for railways Khwaja Saad Rafiq. He said Kh Saad Rafiq was a political figure and the NAB had total regard for the self respect of individuals. He said inquiries were pending about him and the truth would prevail.
