Chicago Board of Trade soyabean futures fell on Thursday, with investors worried about buying demand from China despite a strong export report, traders said. Consolidation trade was noted around the CBOT July soyabean futures contract's 20-day moving average. Strength in the cash market limited the weakness in soyabeans.
The US Agriculture Department on Thursday morning said soyabean export sales in the week ended April 12 totaled 2.132 million tonnes, near the high end of market forecasts for 1.4 million to 2.2 million tonnes. But the USDA has not reported any spot soyabean sales this week. Soyameal and soyaoil futures also were weaker.
