Chicago Board of Trade corn futures rose 1.3 percent on Wednesday as a rally in the wheat market lent strength to the corn, causing a round of short-covering, traders said. The most-active corn contract hit its highest since July 24. It has risen for three straight days and five of the last six. Concerns about the delayed start to planting across much of the US Midwest underpinned corn prices despite forecasts for warmer weather.
