Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says basic facilities will be provided to tribal people on priority a basis. Addressing a tribal Jirga in Miranshah, the headquarters of North Waziristan Agency on Monday, he said FATA will be included in the national mainstream and all political parties are serious about it.
He said Miranshah will be developed as it is the gateway to Central Asia. These include the newly-constructed bazaar, a bus terminal and Ghulam Khan National Logistics Cell Terminal. These projects will promote trade and business activities in the agency.
INP adds: On arrival at Miranshah, the Prime Minister laid floral wreath at Shuhada monument and offered Fateha for Shuhada of Pakistan who have rendered supreme sacrifices for restoration of peace and stability.
The PM said that these social-economic projects are just the beginning and many more such projects are in the pipeline for FATA in addition to the ones which have been completed or are in progress across FATA. Rehabilitation of TDPs and so IO-economic uplift of FATA is priority objective of the govt.
Prime Minister lauded brave tribesmen for their unwavering support in fight against terrorism. PM said that mainstreaming of FATA is key to its long term progress and prosperity for which govt is working in line with aspirations of the people of FATA.
Prime Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Miranshah Market Complex by Pakistan Army Engineers which includes 1344 shops, parks, car parking, solar lights, driveways and water supply network. Prime Minister also inaugurated Ghulam Khan Trade Terminal, North Wazirstan Agency as part of Central Trade Corridor. These newly constructed trade terminals and communication infrastructure in tribal areas will connect this market complex with the CPEC at Dera Ismail Khan and will have its share in national and regional trade routes and commercial dividends awaiting a new chapter of prosperity and economical uplift of the area. Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zafar Iqbal Jhagra and Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Nazir Ahmed Butt were also present on the occasion.
