Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) Mujahid Pervaiz Chattha said on Wednesday that power supply to 80 villages had been ensured through effective transmission system within a short period of one month. He said all the field formations were on their toes to ensure smooth power supply through a strong transmission system in line with the principles of sustainable and quality customer services.
He was presiding over a meeting of reviewing monthly performance of construction operation at the LESCO headquarters. Programme Director Ahmed Fawad briefed him about the Prime Minister's Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). He said 80 villages of district Okara, Kasur and Sheikhupura were ensured smooth supply of electricity through an effective transmission system.
It included 70 villages of district Kasur, six of Okara and four of Sheikhupura, he added. He said the programme was devised in two phases to supply electricity to 549 villages in district Kasur, Sheikhupura and Nankana, out of which 420 villages have been electrified while 88 percent of power supply goal to remaining 129 villages is being completed through effective transmission system.
